Money not seen

For the past 35 years or so, every time I visited my local range to either test for data or just shoot for fun I would always pick brass off the ground. I would look through all of the barrels set at each bench and pick out mainly once fired brass. Fellow shooters would look at me like I had something wrong, but over the years I was able to accumulate 15 barrels of brass. Up until about 6 months ago I thought that the scrap price would enable me to get a new BAT action and some barrels, but now I’m thinking that I might be able to pay off my house. Reloading components are going through the roof. Also, don’t over look shotgun hulls, they will be next.

Brass is not being jacked up YET across about 15 gun forums I am on. Price at the scrap yards are at a 20 year low. 4 years ago it was $3/lb here. Now it is about $1/lb. I have more brass than you do and I am hanging onto it for now. I think I am going to get some brass sorting trays and start selling. most of it is 556, 9mm, 40. The rest I have sorted off over the years and sold.

I keep all that i can for my stash or if i dont own that caliber i keep it for friends. I kind of look at it as with them wanting to ban things and tax the crap out or gun related things its just one more component i already own. I have been picking up every caliber that is boxer primed for 8 years.

I excelled at being a brass whore for many years. About 4 years ago I decided to sell all the scavenged brass to get it out of my way and put a few $$$ in my pocket. The $$$ I made blew me away, it paid for a ShotMarker which I was lusting for.

Here in Australia they won't take it. Seems there have been issues with primed brass .....
I believe you that they won't take it, but I don't believe it's for "issues". If you imagine the equipment, temperatures, and attendant hazards, necessary to melt and pour brass, a few primers cooking off doesn't amount to diddly.

I call FUD, not real world issues.
