Money in the scrap yard

Just received an email from a guy I used to work with at a nuke plant. They dumped all of the lathes and mills in the bone yard. 11 Mori Seiki lathes, and 6 Bridgeport mills :(
 
I know what you mean! The auto manufacturer I work for does the same thing with some of the support shop tools. Usually in perfect working order or may need a small part replaced but just a write-off to them! Sad sight for sure.
 
No, but they can't sell them, nor can they give them away. Big liability issue!

The machinists in the machine shops took great care of the equipment. Other than a few worn spots on the paint, most looked as new. Once they were decontaminated by the RP group, they are as clean as new.
