moly bullets?

what the difference between a regular copper bullet and a moly bullet? what do they do to the the barrel if anything.

In short,Moly reduces friction, pressure, barrel wear, increases velocity.A high pressure load will have lower pressure and higher velocity and you can push the limits a little more.

From my experience, moly reduces friction and pressure, but also reduces velocity for a given powder charge. Not sure about a reduction in barrel wear - maybe, but throat erosion doesn't seem to be slowed much,if any). The main advantage I have found is,a) increasing the time between cleans, and,b) rescuing barrels that won't shoot due to copper fouling.

With the same powder charge, the moly bullets will produce less velocity and pressure. However, in the guns I have shot with moly bullets, all factory)I have been able to increase the powder charge to the point I ended up with slightly higher velocity for what appeared to be the same amount of pressure. You definitely don't have to clean as often between shots, but I still always clean before putting my gun away. If there is truly less barrel wear then that is just an added benefit.
