moly bullets for 6xc?

Dear all,

Any advise on using moly vs just plain bullets for 6xc rounds? Never used moly's; read in some places that it produces miracles; in others, that it's just a headache. advice? Thanks, Billy

A friend of mine has a Tubb2000 6xc. He shoots the 115 Molly only in it and he shoots lights out. I have shot molly in a .223 for 2700 rounds on a dog hunt and did not have the same miracle results that other shooters have had. I have shot naked bullets so long, perhaps you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

I think it is the same argument as which is better Ford or Chevy. Buy a box and test them.

The PPC boys don't use molly, but there again they are shooting light bullets, perhaps you need them with heavy bullets.

I just received 500 115's and did not get them mollied, my friend swears by molly,,he is really shooting great at 600 and 1K with these bullets)

How many of you guys out there shoot Molly 6mm and 6.5?

With the 6XC you have to shoot moly to get the advertized velocity. I tried shooting uncoated bulltes with mine and could not get the veolocity.

I didn't see any significant improvement in barrel life, if any. Furthermore, I have one barrel here that is not shot out, but cleaning the moly out of it became such a pain that I stopped shooting it.

Forget Moly in Most factory barrels. The barrels are too rough and the moly collects in various spots and inmy experience...decreases accuracy. A top of the line bbl that is lapped until it is like a mirror doesn't seem to have this problem. This is my experience anyhow.
