Model 70 action

Please help a rookie ! Is there difference between the barrel shank measurments of the pre 64 mod 70 and the newer Classic Claw type action barrel .I have a pre 64 barrel but no newer barrel shank to measure . I realize this is pretty basic stuff but I cant find drawings for the newer barrel shank . If anyone could provide me with those dimensions or advise me where to look I would sure appreciate it . Im a student so any advice would help . Thanks !!!

The thread is the same 1"-16, you will have to adjust for the extracter cut and the proper clearance on the bolt nose. when those surfaces have been set you can then do the head space for the cartridge. There is a lot of work to do all of this and will require a lathe, chamber reamer, gages.

Are you interested in buying a pre-war pre-64 mag rifle? I bought this to build a custom on but have changed my mind. This is not a collector grade because of use, it is a 375 H&H improved and was used by a DR. that used to hunt in Africa.
