model 7 fireball

I'm looking at picking up a very lightly used model 7 fireball in 17 cal. Anyone care to offer me powder advice on this round, thank Greg

Do not forget lilgun

I'd run lilgun loads through quickload before I shot any. What isn't generally known is that in these small cartridges, as little as a tenth of a grain can put you in the danger zone. From this chair, lilgun is too fast and too shaky to use and I don't give a rat's petutie WHAT you see on the web about it. It's not listed in any manuals or its manufacturers website as a powder for the 17FB.

well i can for sure tell you lilk gun works well in both my 221 and my 17 fireball . if you want something shaky try reloading 5.7x28

Your call. I see it listed on the Hodgdon site for the .221 but where did you get the load for the 17 fireball?

quick load , 14.0 is where i started . settled on 14.2 grains with 20 gr bullet. works well , 8 reloads with no issues yet.

Wow great help guys, I have some Vhit 133 left over from my short lived PPC shooting, plus the others mentioned here.

I loaded up some test loads with I8208 and Benchmark with 25 Vmax. Will post results when I can get to the range.

Start at around 18.5g of H335 with a 20g VMax and a Rem 7.5. Max will be somewhere in the 20g range. Should go 4100-4200 in a 24" tube.
