Mod 70 Jewell install

Has anyone installed a Jewell trigger in a Winchester 70? Is it drop in, require some fitting or will I need the services of a smith to install same? I'm getting one [trigger] regardless but wondered if someone here might be able to answer that question.

I have installed triggers in Rem rifles and I ordered one for my FN SPR which is a Win Model 70 action. I sent it back due to the installation directions. I just did not feel confident with all the grinding and fitting that it said was required. The Rifle Basic was a true drop in and works fine. I hope this helps. Bill

I've installed one on an FN SPR. You will need some skills to do this. It WILL require significant modification of your trigger guard with a dremel and or file. You will then need to refinish or paint the trigger guard. I used DuraCoat. It came out great. The Jewell trigger is a vast improvement over the stock Winchester trigger. It was a lot of work but well worth it in the end.

I've installed one in a M70 prewar and a M70 push feed with no trouble at all, however the safeties on both rifles don't work, but it doesn't matter to me they are both single shots. No creep and very light pull just under 2 oz.
