Not sure, most every bench has a fan on it these days. Wouldnt be much of a winners circle if everybody that had a fan got a dqCrazy! I started a thread a little over a year ago regarding wanting to use my Tikka T3 light for F-Class. The general consensus was that the barrel is too light, and I would have issues with barrel heat and mirage. When I brought up the suggestion of a fan to keep the barrel cool, the responses indicated it was the equivalent of cheating and would not be allowed in competition. Has that changed?
I can tell you that I’ve never seen someone use one is a sanctioned f-Class match. Ive seem them all the time at screwing around f-class matches however. I’ve always been told (whether accurately or not) that they’re not allowed in high-power. Electronics are covered in high-power rules as are communication devices but nothing about ‘fans’. That being said I can almost guarantee whether warranted or not you would be asked by the MD to remove your fan if you showed up with one at a major match.Crazy!
