Minnesota State Mid Range Championship - Sling & F-Class

Memorial Day weekend, May 29-30 at North Star Rifle Club in Red Wing Minnesota. 4x 20 shot matches on Saturday day, and another 3 on Sunday - all at 600 yards. Cost is $50 for 2 days of shooting. Matches will be on Shotmarker targets, so no pit duty. We have 20 targets, so can handle 80 shooters on 4 relays. If there is enough demand, we can go to 100 on 5 relays.

Tent and RV (no hookups) camping is available at the club on Friday and Saturday night.

Unlike some other states, you do not need to be a MN resident to be the MN state Champion and get your name on the trophy! You just need to be a member of the MN Rifle and Revolver Association, which costs $20 for a 1-year membership. You can shoot the match without being an MRRA member and be eligible for all other awards, you just can't be the state champion.

Yeah, unfortunately I can’t be everywhere. This is my home club hosting the state championship, so I can’t miss it. It’s the first time in some years that sling and F-class have been combined, so we are hoping for a big turnout. Come on out!

One more bump for this, match is this weekend. We had 51 shooters pre-registered as of 2 days ago. If you plan on coming but have not registered, PLEASE CALL THE MATCH DIRECTOR (phone number is in the match program above) ASAP to help with pre-squadding, and prevent headaches on Saturday morning. Weather forecast calls for mid-60’s and light winds, so I bet there will be big scores!

Congratulations to the winners this weekend. In the sling class it was Morgan Deitrich, ftr Steve Ernst and in open Troy Goltz left no doubt about his day 1 lead and didn't drop a point all day on Sunday to take the win. Nice shooting guys!
