I had the same question not long ago when re-boring a .30cal #3 barrel to 9.3mm. I was told at that time that .100" was a good minimum to stick with and it worked out fine (though drilling the holes for a front sight was nerve wracking).

I have seen 30-06's being bored out to 9.3 although CIP-configured 9.3x62 brass is actually larger in diameter than 30-06 (.476 vs .470 I believe). I had a problem with RCBS dies swaging a belt into my PRVI brass and had to have RCBS hone the die out. Of course the shoulder is farther forward too.
I doubt that 9.3x57 could be used being shorter and 9.3x66 (370 Sako) is a too hard to find.
