Minimum .223 bullet weight for 300 yards

Hornady 75 BTHP - all positions
This is my first year shooting High Power (shooting rifle for that matter) so I have quite a bit to learn. I bought 400 rounds of CMP Hornady match loads to get me started and they shot really well. I pulled one apart and found what looked like Varget powder and weighed in at 24g. The Service Rifle team here loads close to that so I just duplicated that load and shoot it out to 600. I'm looking at trying the 80.5 Bergers for 600.

I'm in central Ohio. I'm shooting highpower at the Zanesville rifle club. There's not many stores locally that sell reloading stuff so I'm stuck with mail order

OHIO!!! Dang man you should have hopped inthe car and drove up to Camp Perry for the day and saved yourself some money!!!!! Plus watched some fine shooting by some of the best shooters in the USA..
There is this thing called Comercial Row at Camp Perry during the National champs.... It has been known to put a hurtin on many a crdit card in July and Aug.
Ussually you can find good deals on powder, bullets and primers there plus all the goodies to drool over that are directly related to the sport you are now partacking in. Maybe you should still go? Some shooters wait all year to buy a years worth of supplies at Camp Perry and keep doing that every year.

R15,Varget, CCI 450 or Rem 71/2's, Winchester or LC brass and your Hornady bullets loaded at around 2.25" Max OAL with about 23 to 24gr of powder will produce a load that will get you all the way to master classifacation and help you work on position and sight alignment/ trigger control.
Good Luck Sir

Yeah..I'm nowhere near Perry. It's about 3 hours or way, I can't justify the savings vs driving 6 hours in my F150, and we're getting ready for vacation or I'd be up there shooting :). I've been there, I purchased my m1 from the north store.

300yds....pretty much anything will work.

i shot 382yds a few weekends ago up in Bland, VA.

I shot:
50gr vmax
52gr amax
