Mini-14 SS 223

Was very happy and lucky to be able to purchase a 1986 Ruger Mini-14 SS in 223 that was a part of an estate sale for $650!

I have always wanted to Mini-14... but they typically run more in the $1K or higher range...

According to the family I spoke with, the rifle spent most of its life in the gun safe and was never used. The condition of the rifle suggest this to be true.

I have not gotten it out to my back-40 range yet.... but on the to-do list on the next dry weekend!

Got the parts for mounting scope on it... but not sure I'll like it.... but my eyes are not good near or far... so we will see - pun intended. ;)

I had one of those years ago.
Very hearty and reliable weapon. A perfect Truck Gun
Easier to us than an AR
Not quite as accurate as an AR in my experience though.
Supposedly, the Mini 14 with a GB barrel (GovtBarrel) are more accurate

If you sell it...............You'll kick yourself

Shoot it open sights, with poor eyes you'll never know how bad you're missing(everything)!!
better yet, that rifle is perfectly designed to use the thumb through the belt loop method
(Be sure to register your thumb as a lethal weapon with local law enforcement and ATF )

Always loved these rifles nice job

Accuracy Systems in Colorado does a great job on triggers for the Mini and they also sell gas
block orifices to keep the brass from going 20+ feet from the gun, if your reloading!
They are good, reliable and fun guns to shoot.
