Million Dollar Scope idea……..Or maybe dumb?

I’m probably not explaining this correctly or for the right reasons.

This isn’t about programming ballistics or drops or anything like that.

All I’d want it to do would have a digital readout of how many minutes I’m clicked up or down from zero.

Simply as a reference so if for some reason my turret has moved OR I clicked it up and forgot about it I’d have a little display that would indicate if I was clicked up a given amount or on zero.
It does that but instead of it saying "you are 30 moa up" it says "1000 yards" And you set that correlation. So if you zero it at 100 yards and it was a click or two high of your zero it would read "120 yards" or something like that.

Gotcha, I’d have to look at it. It seems more “busy” maybe from what I’m thinking but sounds pretty slick.

He posted a vid earlier that shows how it works. If it had a built in range finder it would be pretty damn slick.

Not a dumb idea. You want it in minutes dialed, so be it. The Revic looks at minutes dialed, then offers a more user friendly solution. But you just want the straight dope without all the fluff. I'd bet the Revic might challenge you for patent. Apparently they've already figured out how to keep track of the turns and turret position accurately, which is the biggest hurdle.

So the OP wants a particular setting on a HUD, in-view, through the scope. I think that is just as valid of a marketing “feature” as many other things like Revic’s system, locking turrets, crazy reticles, rotation indicators, etc.

I personally think lots of gimmicks are marketed as “features” to solve the problems of incompetence, laziness, and ignorance. I had a broken gear indicator in my first truck, didn’t notice until someone else pointed it out. I just always put it in park before shutting her down. Reverse and drive have distinct torque shifts, not to mention the number of clicks before getting there.

So yes, $M idea! Plenty of dudes, half comatose and covered in urine, sitting in their tree stand, and being awakened by a deer 14ft away will need this whiz-bang feature to execute a 30moa lung shot with their 378 Wby. We all know at least 1 of them...
