Millet Tactical Scopes...Junk or underpriced quality?

Just looked at a couple of Millet Scopes at LGS...the 35mm tube 1005A in ATAC, Millet has a buy it now for $804, LGS at $489 its 6-25X 56mm...says USA Company on box scope has MADE IN CHINA on the bottom of the turret...what gives? Good stuff or junk?

I have a Millet on my Weatherby Vanguard s2 30-06. Optics are clear, shoots the box, but the detent check ball for the optical power adjustment didn't survive the recoil. I won't hold out for the scope to last forever. It was a lower priced Millet, but not what I'd call cheap.

I wouldn't pay over $500 for any Millet JMHO.

I'll clarify, I started F-class competition for MR 600y with a $60 Barska and did well for a year before upgrading. At least I knew it was cheap junk that surprised me by doing well. My Millet hasn't surprised me.

"Made in China" would cause me to walk away from it, far away, and as fast as possible.

Recently looking at packaged tomato's in a grocery store. In big letters the label said "Product of the USA". In smaller print underneath was "Grown in Mexico".

To me that's deceit.

I have 4, Two needed work after a couple of years. Funny the one on the 338 Lapua has been fine, very repeatable adjustments out to a mile, glass good not NF good but still. Warranty is great lifetime, send it in will fix or replace no ? asked. Now this is for the LRS not the TRS.

I picked up two of the 4-16 x 56 with the 30 mm tube a few years back when they were on sale at NSS. I have one on my 22-250 and the other was on a 223 I sold. For a $150 scope they are not bad. The turret are not very positive on the click but they track pretty good. The turret locks stink glass is OK. But I paid $150 for mine they are worth that. To add a few details I bought a few of the Weaver Nitrex scopes on NSS for just a few bucks more in the 6-20 size $200. That scope is way better quality and function wise. In short I would not buy another Millet for $150
