Mil Spec Bullets

I have a bunch of Mil Spec bullets from Widener's.
30 cal 145 gr and 175 gr FMJBT. I can't seem to get them to shoot to good.
I am getting just under MOA on the 145's and just over on the 175's.
Anyone shot these and had any better luck?

Shooting out of a Ruger MKII 77 Target.

you will need to sort them by weight and base to ogive. Just the price to pay, but once they are sorted out you will probably see a big improvment.

I have been shooting a tone of the 168gr match bullets. I am using a rem700LHVS and I am getting about quarter inch groups since I have been sorting the bullets by weight. It has really cut down on my fliers.

I weighed what was in a 30cal can and here is what I found.

Total bullets counted was 1706. I grouped then by .1gr. So you can have a 167.0 with a 167.9.

I have 350 brass for my rifle and shoot from one box of 50 then move to the next. Left to right front to back. I also calibrate my scale every 10 to 15 rds. I am very happy with the bullets how they shoot in my rifle now only if they all weighed near eachother.

Thanks guys.
I bought them for hard times and just wanted to get the load development done. I will try weighing them and checking ogive and see what I get.

Tim,
don't waste your time weighing and sorting them. When you're done, you'll just have weighed and sorted crappy bullets. The problem with military bullets isn't weight variation; it's usually jacket wall concentricity. And, given the accuracy you described these as turning in, you've already got an exceptionally good batch of bullets there. You want good qualty and accurate ammo? That means good quality components; cases, primers, powders and most importantly, bullets. Besides, if you count the savings in time spent sorting and weighing, they're not that great a bargain.
