Spike,

Could you explain the differences in classes:

Unlimited

Limited

Factory

Factory I think I can understand, but I see PPCs and 6-6.5x47s listed in Limited thought they surely must be customs. Is this a weight limited configuration?

Also, Spike, do you have any photos of the range. Looks like you had great turn-out.

Do the "factory" guns shoot the same course of fire? If so, Joe Pellegrene had high score for the match with a .223: 49 3 50 2 50 5 1.28 149 10X -- Impressive.

1. A FACTORY RIFLE is one that has its entire original factory or the manufacturing factory replaced components and of a caliber that FACTORY produced ammunition can be purchased. “Any caliber that an individual can buy from the ammunition companies of Federal, Remington or Winchester is permitted in the “FACTORY SPORTER/VARMINT CLASS”. “All other calibers will need to shoot in the Custom Factory Class.

2. For this class the only modifications to the firearm that will be accepted are as follows:

a. Re-crowing of the barrel.
b. Rebluing.
c. Refinishing the stock as long as the basic factory shape has not been altered to fit your front and back rests etc.
d. Bedding of the action and barrel.
e. Factory triggers may be adjusted down to a minimum of 1 lb. pull. No after market triggers allowed.
f. NO OTHER CHANGES WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THE “FACTORY
SPORTER/VARMIT CLASS. ANY OTHER CHANGES WILL PUT THE RIFLE IN THE “CUSTOM FACTORY CLASS”!

B. Custom Factory Class:

1. A factory rifle that was ordered custom made, one that has been altered in any way shape or form, other than listed above), or one that is chambered for a caliber that ammunition manufactures Federal, Remington & Winchester do not offer for sale.

Examples:
a. Replaced any part with an after market part.
b. Factory trigger adjusted to less than 1 lb. pull.
c. Changed the basic factory shape of the stock or attached anything to the stock except a sling.
d. Changed the length of the barrel or the original dimensions of the chamber.
f. Chamber the rifle for a caliber for which Federal, Remington or Winchester factory produced ammunition can not be purchased.

C. Custom Limited Class: - Custom built rifles weighting up to and including 16.5 lbs. - 200, 300 & 500 yds. NOTE: We may change to 300, 400 & 500 yds.

Custom Unlimited Class: - Custom built rifles weighting 16.51 lbs. or more. - 200, 300 & 500 yds. NOTE: We may change to 400, 500 & 600 YDS.

Custom factory and factory shoot at 100-200-300 yds

Keep in mind that the FACTORY guns are only shooting at 100-200-300 yards...the customs 200-300-500..it looks like everyone shoots the same and that the factory guns outshot the customs but it's not that way..either way some really good shooting, this is a tough place to shoot on any day..lots of cross winds even though it's look nice, looks can be decieving.. YOUR all invited to the next shoot...

As a first time shooter at Mifflin I’d like to thank you people for a very enjoyable meet. And especially to the person who figured out who that left behind range box belonged to and Bill Varner for seeing that it made it the 98 miles back home to me today.

Hope to be back many more times.

Bill Slattery Jr.

Glad you enjoyed yourself..don't make a stranger of yourself..THANKs to whomever returned your kit from the range master..TOLD YA that this is an awesome match and a great group of very competitive shooters..check out those score..5 points or thereabouts divides the first five place..that's gettin' er' done.... See ya shortly..

Did anyone notice that there were 7 different cartridges,6BR, 30BR, 22BR, 6.5X47, 6PPCX, 6PPC, & 6X47) among the top 7 limited shooters? Gotta love these groundhog matches.
