MIDWAY USA

I live in Louisiana, get Midway orders in three days. Never, ever, if at all possible use USPS. They always take forever and don’t give a crap if you’re waiting for it or not. I’ll pay extra to know it’s gonna get to me soon and in one piece.

Priority Mail is my preferred shipping method, with UPS 3 day in second..................... and if I absolutely must I’ll use FedEx.

I don’t think Midway should be faulted just because someone selects the cheapest shipping method.

Sunday evening I placed 3 orders with 3 companies. The orders were all placed within 10 minutes. There was no hazmat in any order and they were all similar in size. The 3 companies were Midway, Sinclair and Creedmoor Sports. Midway showed up today.... I'm still waiting on the other 2.

6 days to get my order from Powder Valley here via Fed ex. The last 1 1/2 business days to get here from the Fed ex hub 12 miles away....

I have always had good luck with them. One time several years back a shipment of mine got lost. After about a week of it not showing up I called them. They said no problem. They shipped the same items to me again ad I had them a day or to later. Kicker was about a month later I received a card from post office that said I had a package there. When I got there the guy at post office said that the box had been at post office all along. I called midway and explained to the the post office had found the original shipment. The lady on the phone said not to worry about sending it back. I thought that was pretty cool of them

Creedmoor Sports is in second place. Their order came today.

Sinclair is slow, but they have stuff others don't
Powder Valley is slow, but they have better prices than almost anyone
Midway is usually fastest. I order a fair bit from them.
Amazon prime is faster than that, but you're paying Amazon.

Shipping is expensive, fast shipping is more expensive. I guess I'm old enough to remember instant gratification wasn't the norm and stuff didn't just show up over night, so I'm more patient that most. If I need it for a match this weekend I pony up for the over night or two day, otherwise it gets here when it gets here.

Larry is a smart guy or Larry has some smart marketing guy. For example, Midway periodically sell Leupold scopes at real big discounts, like I bought a new Leupold 4.5-14X40 30mm VX3i for about 40% discount. A bunch or other Leupold scopes were also on sale - I was about to buy a 12X40 FX3 for less than $300 but when I signed on again, in about 8 hours, all the sale Leupold scopes were gone. This has resulted in a daily visit to Midway and possibly many other customers react the same way.

Some small items are sold with no shipping costs and including them in an order can wipe out the total shipping cost but the customer needs to find these items and this results in searches that would normally not occur. Each time I order, I buy a small 3 inch Cold Steel knife, no charge for shipping if order is over $25 and this sometimes removes the $4.99 shipping charge for tiny light items. I gift these knives to friends - they either cut up apples & tomatoes or open their bill envelopes.

Bullets are expensive to ship but periodically Midway has free shipping for over $100 orders.

The Midway web site is extremely well done and presents little or no frustration in locating items and that helps. Past orders are easily found. Return merchandise authorizations may be obtained on-line, a shipping label printed and the item (if it fits) dropped of in any UPS box.

Larry apparently makes a good effort to get the stuff shipped the next working day but is not responsible for any UPS or USPS screw-ups.

Good old Midway
I ordered two action screws yesterday that are in stock .
Just got my confirmation that I will receive my order in only 10 days.. Good Lord I could drive there and back in 2 days

This can happen with Haz shipments as there are DOT regulations regarding how much Haz can be on a given truck at a time, etc.

I used MidwayUSA exclusively for several years including purchasing several NightForce competition scopes. UPS could move my shipment half way across America in 2 days. My delays started when Midway started partnering UPS with USPS for final delivery. UPS moves my shipment in 2 days then it takes Post Office 2 to 3 days to move it 9 miles to my mailbox.
Well, don't select the cheapest shipping option... Choose UPS Ground, or Next Day Air, not UPS Surepost.

I started buying from MidSouth Shooters in TN. My orders started arriving next day (110 miles). Then it went to 2 days and sometimes 3 days. I called and inquired why the slow shipping times and was told we're busy. Could you hire some more help or work a few hours over? I worked 14 hours days for nearly 35 years... I was in an industry that was customer driven. You satisfy the customer or your out of business soon.
If only it was so simple, they got busy for a short time so they should fork out more time and money to hire and train new employees who will be laid off when they are no longer needed in a month or so, so a customer can save one day on shipping.

Natchez tops the list on picking a bad carrier. I live 153 milles from Natchez. My order was shipped via FedEx Ground. Ordered on Monday, shipped to Chattanooga, then my shipment went to Walton, KY, then to Independence, KY, then to Indianapolis, IN, then finally arriving in 6 days. Approximately 800 miles traveled before it arrived, if Natchez can't pick a better way to ship they will loose my business.
That's 100% on FEDEX not Natchez. Natchez has no control over the route a package takes.

midway is amazing on shipping speed. thanks Larry

Midsouth is a solid company also, 2 business days usually

Brownells on the other hand :( you can have an edge membership and they'll slow down the shipping even more when you use a promo code. I no longer waste my money on an edge membership because of this.

and optics planet is by far the worst, sometimes a week before it leaves the warehouse.
I don't understand why people have such a difference of experiences. I ordered a battery pack for a thermal scope from optics planet and had it in hand in 4 days. Other than that, i have never ever had anyone ship faster than JoeBobs out of Kansas. Oftentimes, the order is actually in ups hands within 2 hrs of placing the order.

I can put a stamp on an envelope pop it in the mail it will be across country in 3days tops

Exactly, people get free shipping and then turn around to bitch that its not expedited.

If you want it faster... pay for the faster shipping!
