Midway USA packaging

I know this has been discussed before, but I can't recommend Midway
for ammo shipments.
I did call and they are going to send another box out free.
But until something changes there, I won't buy any more ammo from them.
My one box was loosely packed in a larger box and the ammo box was banged up and
all of the 22lr ammo was rolling around and looks like the bullets have a silver ring
around them now and most of the lube is gone.
You can see the lube the inside of the packing box.

Midway just doesn’t care. Might be cheaper for them to pay for damaged good than to pay for better help. It’s not like they save money by scrimping on packaging material. I’ve learned not to buy heavy items with anything that can be easily damaged. I’d quit buying from them, but they seem to have nearly everything and usually good stock. It’s too bad because it reflects very poorly on their image. Kinda the Walmart of shooting.

A friend of mine had the same thing happen to him a week ago.
I'll order other stuff, just not ammo anymore.

I have never had a issue with MidwayUSA in years of receiving packages from them. I guess things occur with USPS and other carriers on occasion. I did have a package issue with a very well thought of company.
Not to start a war, but the company began with "L". It can happen with the best of them. But I really believe it is not their fault, but the carrier making the delivery/handling.

If you can get it for the same price from a good shipper, I would.
I get a little on clearance from Midway sometimes and cross my fingers on the shipping.
I have had no problems ever with Midway and I have ordered from them a long long long time and in rural remote areas they have been very helpful to my ongoing hobby-- addiction. Rich

here we go again.....sigh.

it is midways fault 99.9% of the time. they package their items in massively oversized boxes with very inadequate or no fill.

i received a package a year or two ago from them, i ordered a 1,200 round case of 5.56 ammo along with like 20 other items. they just threw it all on one massively oversized box and the heavy case of ammo was just rolling around in there just smashing everything. doesn't feel very good when a $1,000 package arrives like that.

here is some pics of the carnage. midway was happy to replace everything, but its still ridiculous.

i will say though that their hazmat stuff comes shipped very well, it's just the other stuff.

definitely avoid ordering bullets from them.

I gotta ask.... what is the food and fuel charge from Midway for ? Are we now paying for the bosses to go eat dinner?
When Biden started to get the credit card companies to report gun/ammo purchases to the feds, Midway changed the codes on the purchases to look like grocery and other non firearms purchases to the credit card companies. They did make an announcement about three years or so ago to explain why you might see bizarre items on a bank statement.

About 3 months ago I had ordered About $146 of stuff from them and their billing statement said 87 cents for food and fuel .
Made me wonder

It ain't the same company as when Larry owned it.

Had the exact same thing happen from Midway with 22LR ammo last year, two 525rd boxes in a loosely taped big box and half of one spilled into the big one. Somehow, all accounted for (by weight) despite the terrible packaging job. Didn't waste a minute trying to complain, just falls on deaf ears at Midway.

Since Larry turned it over to this new guy. In verry little time he has KILLED the Co. Midway now S U C K S . i try not to order from them. Tommy Mc

Tried 3 times to get a cleaning rod that was still straight sent to me. Every one looked like a recurve bow. Finally gave up and got a refund and ordered from another source. They were smart enough to put it into a heavy cardboard tube and it arrived unmolested the first time.
Having said that, I work for a class 1 railroad in the materials department. We order multi-laminate windows rated like bullet proof glass from a locomotive manufacturer. They are NOT cheap. Yet the morons in their shipping department will put heavy steel items in the same box and they arrive cracked all the time. My employer gets a reshipment free of charge and often the same situation occurs.
Makes less than -0- sense to me.
