Micro-Sight for ARs and Service Rifles Released

The new Phased Zone Plate Micro-Sight really works and it promises to be a breakthrough for iron sights shooters. We first broke this story in May, and now the first production versions have hit the market.

Creedmoor Sports has a Micro-Sight Hood for AR Nat'l Match sites. As far as we know, this is the first production-version Micro-Sight product available. You can read about it in todays Daily Bulletin: http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com

What about other rear sights (e.g. Phoenix, Warner) -- Expect Micro-sight inserts to roll out in spring and summer, hopefully in time for Camp Perry.

FYI, Carl Bernosky, multiple Nat'l High-Power Champion has tried the Micro-Sight, he says it works and he has fitted one to his Service Rifle.

Is this legal for Service Rifle in the President's Rifle Match? If so it'll be a game changer.

ETA:

It hurt my eyes, but I read through the rules and found:

6.1 General Service Rifles Rules

(3) The dimensions of the rear sight aperture (internal diameter) and the front
sight post (width) may vary from standard military dimensions. The rear
sight aperture may have a fixed, non-adjustable aperture insert. A corrective lens may be inserted in the rear sight hood. The rear sight hood diameter may not be longer than 0.70” or larger than 0.50” in diameter.

Got mine this week, installation was ultra simple - unscrew rear sight hood then screw Micro-Sight with hood back in.

I will be shooting it next Saturday at our Club 200 yard Match so we'll see.

So far so good, "shooting" out the window at my house, the sight and trees are both in focus.

It will be interesting to see if the POI changes also.

How do objects look far away (say 600 to1000 yards)? relative to the focus @ 200?

I haven't looked at a 1000 yard target "Yet" but the 600 yard target appears the same as a 200 yard target. I have available M1/M14 aperture/racks and that is what I will be looking at a 1000 yard target with.

i am looking to purchase another micro sight insert, i imported one from creedmoor 7 or 8 years ago into australia but no body seems to have them anymore. Any help in locating one would be appreciated or info on any company making them. i tried the unit from Sinclair but found the Creedmoor one much clearer.
cheers, Pete

Pete,

I went through this a few years ago and ended up having to buy the MISO kit. Not sure if they are still available.
