MGM...Match Grade Machine

I ran across this company ( I believe they have the video of them blowing up a Contender 300prc barrel??).
They make prefit Savage and list the reamer I'm looking for 6.5 wsm. Can't find on their site if they're button rifled or cut.

Anyone have any experience with these guys?

I have purchased two barrels from them. Both of mine were for TC Pro Hunter. That is what they originally specialized in. They do great work. Both of my barrels were Shilen Select Match. They shoot great. I would not be afraid to buy another one from them.

I think they have just started making their own barrels. It’s not called MGM, Preferred Barrels is the company. This company was brought to my attention about the Howa Mini barrels they are chambering.

Oh yeah. I forgot when searching I was directed to Preferred Barrels. Still don't know if they're button or cut.

They source their blanks from multiple places, mostly button manufacturers from what I’ve seen. I snagged two savage prefits from a sale they ran on social media on X-Caliber blanks that cost less than if I had one of those ordered direct. All the machining was top notch and they shoot extremely well, as my experience with X-Caliber barrels so far has been.

Curious if the barrels are marked MGM or are they the Preferred label?
Preferreds website sure makes it look like they are making barrels from scratch.

The two I have are definitely marked with “Match Grade Machine” etched in a spiral pattern so that no matter how the barrel is timed, you can see it. I did order them directly through MGM, FWIW.

With the popularity of the 20’s I figured they would offer some. Then again that does save me some money, lol.

Would like to hear what you think when your barrel shows up. What did you have it chambered in?
Jeff

I've had them make me 25-06 barrels for my Encore rifles, good quality & accurate! This is the phone number I had, (435)6280071
