Mexican Match...but for hunting loads?

i have a good bit of american gunner 6.5 creedmoor ammo that i doubt i ever shoot. given the current state of ammo availability, could i pull the bullet and swap it over to a hunting bullet of the same weight....much like is done with the lapua FMJ ammo for 223's?

Haven't heard that ammo description for a long time. But, as long as your bullet weight and bearing surface are very close, you should be ok. I'd start with 1 and check the fired brass for any sign of pressure compared to a fired factory round.

The Grendel guys have a great one... Moscow Match... where you pull bullet off a Wolf cartridge and replace it with better bullet (desperate times).

Yes you can swap. The only challenge/issue is consistent neck tension may vary on the cases, especially depending on how the bullets are pulled. This may be a non-event &/or may not be a concern for you since the Mexican Match is for hunting loads. To address neck tension the easiest method would to neck only resizing die, but you can just as easily us FL Sizing die (remove the depriming rod/expander button). Then you can run cases through a neck expander mandrel die ($50) so that the cases are all consistent.
