I bought some reloading items from a estate sale today. One of the items was a “Metalic II “ press. I don’t recall ever seeing one of these in the past. It doesn’t look real old, late 70s early 80s.
Any of you have any experience with these presses?

It is a solid machine. I use it for loading 3006 garand ammo. it is faster than a single stage press once you get used to it. And the ammunition is better for my rifle than what I can buy.

I need to order another tool head so I can have a relatively quick change set up.

Whats the value of this one? I dont think I will use it.

If you open that link I sent you, you will see the starting cost of a new one.

Then you would need to research used adds and see if you can find what they sold for recently.
Just depends on where you advertise it and luck when you sell it like anything else.

Someone who knows those machines and really wants a used one will be apt to take it off your hands.

They are good machines in the hands of folks who know what they are doing. Some of the old pistol clubs around here lost their ranges over time, but they had several of these and many folks went Distinguished on that ammo.

Best bet is to clean it up and sell it locally. Shipping is going to kill most deals.

I paid about $275 for mine and it was covered in a thick white spray on grease. Took a few hours to clean off.

I had one of those machines back in the 70's, early 80's. Loaded scads of '06, and 7.62 for my Garand
and M1A's. It was a great machine. Sold it to a friend of mine when I bought a Hornady Projector. He still uses the PW Met ll. Not much to go wrong with it.

PW's "Cal Die", open window, bullet drop in die is really nice. Sure beats holding a bullet with your thumb
and forefinger when loading on a progressive machine. Works great for loading lots of blasting ammo.
