Metal Gongs?

Our club has AR500 steel targets at the pistol range and at the 400 ,500 and 600 yard ranges. They are very popular with our 1200 + members.
Most were made by my son's company www.custommetalprod.com. A few are custom, but most are standard products.
Members are allowed to place their own targets in front of a berm, but must have prior written permission from the Board of Directors. So far, after 4 years, it has worked out well for all, and there have been no accidents.

Yes, we have had some guys that shot 223 rifles at close range and damaged the targets on the plate rack, the targets were replaced and we carry on. There is always maintenance required on a shooting range, it may be target repairs, stand repairs, target post replacement, whatever. Everything downrange gets beat up, be prepared to fix it.

Safety is everyone's concern. Our club instituted a Range Officer training program, and by training many members, and having them display their RSO flag whenever they are at the range, safety is greatly enhanced. It would be perfect if all members were RSOs.
