Ah, a man with a large budget for brass ;D

Be very interested to see what you achieve with that.
Nice looking gun

Actually, not really! I pushed my 139 Lapua Scenars at 2930 from my 28" Krieger using RL17 and my brass has 8 firings on it with tight primer pockets, so 2950 fps. out of a 30" bbl should not be hard on brass either.

Now I have a 30" Krieger and I'm fixing to work up a load for it as well, I'm also looking to hit 2950 fps. or so using 139 gr. Lapua Scenars.

Toney, nice rifle, you should find your load around 42.0 gr. of RL 17 with bullet jammed .020" into the lands. Work up to this load!

Good luck!

P.S. Toney, are you going to shoot it at the Texas State Midrange Championship in February?

depends on how my load work goes and of course if my SEB NEO is in my hands, Ernie says he has but as of yet i still dont
Was hoping to quote some info from brain litz book, typically i,m unable to find it
however the jest of it was 140jlk/berger or 130jlk/berger and 140amax all have better numbers @ 1k than the 139scenar
The Amax is not better by much but the 130jlk/berger are both about 10" better on drift @ 1k, 140jlk/berger even more. Basically 139 is equivalent to a 142smk but if they shoot good for ya but paying premium $$ for 142smk performance not for me.
Actually i was surprised on how good Amax bullets are based on his testing cheap n cheerful especially when compared to lapua prices.
Performance wise 140amax is better than 139scenar as is 123amax also better than 123scenar, Brian litz is a ballistics wizard so i have no issue basing my bullet section on his findings...for the $$ scenars are not the way to go.
So i,m going to run 140bergers jammed 41.5 RE17 or so should be golden, again being a match rig all about accuracy not speed but see no reason why 2950 and 1/2 MOA or better groups should be an issue.

I have no idea what the color scheme of stock is called, bill described it to me and I said sounds good send it.
Arrow wood finish is da bomb, i just wanted to seal wood so brushed it on and let it soak in overnite
Auto clear coat maybe better than spar varnish but i wanted to use products that i could apply my self, the end finish is all about sanding especially between coats.
I sanded out to 1500 wet n dry then used automotive polish and rotary polisher to do final buff out.
Rattle can and elbow grease, took about 6 weeks as you have to wait 72hrs between coats, no fancy spray booth just hung it out on patio n sprayed
Sanding and polishing is what makes the finish, as to durability well product is specifically made for yachts and being out in elements 24/7...time will tell

No wonder I can't win anything using Lapua Scenars! ;)

BC is not everything. I don't know if you sort your bullets or not, but if you ever sort Lapua Scenars you will understand why they cost more.

Toney, you will soon realize that in this game a little BC advantage won't matter much when you are shooting 1000 yards with a 15 - 20 mph switching head wind or tail wind and you miss a wind call! ;D

Agree completely regardless of BC etc if they shoot thats bottom line.
Point being you could of just as easily shot that spanking 300m with 140Amax, its the indian not the arrow so to speak

But if i can spank the X with less costly bullets

Hmmm weighing brass, sorting bullets i dont partake of that madness
think of all the variables why hurt ya head by doing all that crap, have never seen any study that empirically proved any gains
Weighing brass is pointless as overall weight has nothing to do with case cap, weight could be anywhere in case and not affect case cap. So unless you are sorting by case cap via H20 cap ::)
Spinning bullets/measuring bearing surface etc etc
Weighing primers???
Some do and treat preppin their brass akin to the second coming, not for me... time better spent @range reading wind....everyones nemesis
I maybe new to F class but have been shooting 1k for 20+ yrs so i think i have a grasp of basics, thou my injuries prevent me from doing much.
Next time your over @ Marks ck out the 6mm i designed for him, no fireforming 40' shoulder similar to 6SLR in concept.
