Meopta scopes

I believe the Optika6 is made from quality components but assembly is in the Czech to keep cost down. I have been eyeing these for a hunting gun but have been looking for reviews myself.

Meopta is and always has been a czech company, and most of they're products are made there of course.

I’ve had several Meopta optics and I’ve never been disappointed. I’ve been eyeing the Optika6, cameraland has some on sale. Feature rich scopes, my only questions is the tracking which I may have to answer by ordering one and checking it out. Doesn’t seem to be too many people using them. But at 500-800 I bet they beat most of the options under 1k.

Their spotting scopes are high quality and I’ve been using a set of 10x Binos from Meopta, great glass, not as clear as my Swaros but better than many of the other brands I’ve compared them too.

If you look on YouTube at Dark Lord of Optics he does some reviews on the Optica6, he actually designed one of the reticles for that line of scopes.

I'm told Meopta glass is made by Schott, Schott make the glass for Zeiss.
Meopta scopes have a very good reputation in Europe, and although I have never owned one I have looked through a few and have always been impressed.

I have heard the same that THEY MAKE the Zeiss Conquest line--I suggest calling Doug @ Camera Land as he carries most all lines of scopes and can probably give U the answer

I have had several over the years and they are first rate scopes. It is my understanding that at some point Germany {Carl Zeiss, under the direction of the German govt.} set up an optical manufacturing facility in Czechoslovakia at some point. Not sure if it was during WWI or WWII occupation, but it's now Meopta and it's been there ever since.
Good clear optical grade glass such as Schott is half the battle...the other is the coatings on the lenses. You will not be disappointed with anything Meopta makes. The ones I had all tracked and held zero perfectly. For the money you will be hard pressed to find a scope that gives better low light performance. They are out there, Leica, Zeiss, Swaro, etc. but they cost a lot more.

The glass in the Optika 6 line is the best you will get for the price and have heard tracking is perfect. I do not like most of their reticles, I find them too thick or 2nd focal plane BDC for a specific cartridge(308, 6.5CM, 223, etc.) and they are heavy for a hunting scope. Great if you are sitting in a blind. Their previous scopes lacked a parallax adjustment which is a must have feature for me. They don't market very much in the US but are well know for their binos in the birding community. As stated they make the NF spotter which is a rebranded S2 and the Cabela's Euro Instinct binos which are their Meostar B1 line, both excellent optics.
