Meopta Optika 5-30 or Arken 7-35?

One other option similar to the Arken
The Arkens I have looked through surprised me in a good way, So I am considering one of these since they are supposedly made in the same factory as Arken,
I am kind of waiting to see more peoples feedback on them.

Peoples feedback??? Did you happen to read all 4 pages of the reviews while in their website? Seemed like a bunch of Arken faboi`s praising that its better than a Leupold, or a Nightforce, a Trijicon TENMILE, on an on, lol. Its a chyneez scope! Go read the reviews within their website if you want a good laugh.

Take the reviews with a grain of salt. These Arkens and DNT types of scopes are just cheap chyneezium scopes. They`re ok scopes for what you likely will pay for them, but they sure as heck aren`t going to beat the highend scopes like they all try to make you believe. As long as you KNOW that going into it, don`t read alot into what the most of these reviewers tell you. Most of them wouldn`t know a good scope if they had one. Its all hype.

These are hilarious;

Application: Hunting or NRL Hunter matches. I got light transmission data on Meopta (88%) and no such data on Arken...
Do you know the model and part number to the Meopta you`re researching? Because i`m finding 91% light transmission in the 5-30x56 i was looking at. And i`m not positive, but i think Meopta only makes 2 of the 5-30x56 scopes. They have ED glass in both scopes, which is pretty good.

Go here and look at the Meopta 5-30x56 specs.

No I did not read any of the fanboi reviews
I read real world reviews on websites such as this one, Snipers Hide etc.

Per Arkens website
EP-5 Gen 2 7-35x56 was designed to enhance performance for long range shooting scenarios.
With a versatile 7-35x zoom range, ED Japanese Glass,

I know they are no comparison to my Kahles by any stretch
But for their price, they are worlds above a BSA, Barska etc. I can assure you.... and have good clarity out to 800 yds anyway from the models I have personally looked through and impressed me more than Vortex's offerings in the same price range.

I will admit the first time I seen a guy show up with one instead of say a Primary Arms if budget shopping I was ready to dog on it. Until I looked through a couple.
But I have seen $1200 Burris XTRII's that looked worse than the $500 Arkens

I would surely NOT leave out Athlon Ares ETR scopes out of the scope picks. I just bought the Ares ETR Gen 2 UHD 15-60x56 (#212117) and that glass is super crisp! It comes with metal flip up scope covers that you can position anywhere you want, a 3" scope shade, a 6" parallax wheel. I paid $1000 for mine just a few days ago.

I`ll leave a link here for you guys to check out the Athlon Ares scopes.

This is their latest Gen 3 in 4.5-27x50
I checked this one out the other day when i was at EuroOptic when i bought my Nightforce and my Athlon 15-60x56 and it is VERY nice, for the price point!

I have 3 different Arken scopes but not the latest 7-35 that you asked about. I'm very pleased with mine. I also have one of the Athlon scopes but I don't remember the exact model. Will look it up. Of these my favorite is the Arken EP5 5- 25. Would I choose it if my life depended on it? No idea because it does not. Spending $1k+ on a scope was not an option for me. The Arken and Athlon scopes do everything I ask of them reliably. They are far from junk. The days of labeling everything from China a junk is long gone. They certainly make crap but they make quality products as well. I do understand not wanting to buy stuff form China but that is a different discussion
