Are ya'll back to shooting at Hawks Ridge? Didn't you shoot at Butner for a while?

Well yes Hawks Ridge 1000 YD range is up and running again. As far as Butner goes that's the NC 1000 BR club shooting there matches at Butner NC . Hawks Ridge members are in the process of voting yes or no for IBS . Will know soon the outcome. Also will post match dates as soon as the votes are counted.

I work in Lenoir....and live just down the road in taylorsville, so I'm close to the area and have wanted to shoot out at Hawks Ridge for a while....but, have been meaning to ask if there's yardages OTHER than 1000 to shoot? I haven't ever shoot 1000yds...farthest I've been able to shoot is around 400yds on some family land...so, i'd love to be able to "work up" to 1000...

Hey GSR, our range is just 1000 yds only but don't' let the distance scare you. We have members that will take time out and help you get on paper. It's great when you break a clay pigeon on the sighter bank at over a half mile away then you are ready to put them all in the ten ring.

You are replying to a thread that has not been replied to in 6 years. It is my understanding that Hawks Ridge is not currently open during the week and is only open for matches. I could be wrong. Contact these folks: http://www.hawksridgegunclub.com/clubContacts.html They just had a steel practice match where you could have brought your own steel.

bump... Would love to know if you can take steel out there too.

Not sure about bringing steel, I know the owner use to frown on that, due to not having backstops or traps.

But bring your gun and come on to the next match we have. We will put up paper, and you can really see what the gun will do. It is a great place to shoot, with some of the finest people in the world.
