I've had that issue with HSM ammo in 300 Win Mag. Had to dang near hammer the bolt open on a new Cooper rifle. When I took the case out, the primer fell out. Never had any issue with other ammo.

I always found it funny/odd that a guy will show up at the range driving a $60,000 SUV, using a $1000+ rest, $2000 Optics, $3500 rifle and will dig through the trash can looking for .10 brass. Brian.

I think quoting an old TV commercial will relay my experience: "How do you think he got so rich?" When I was a kid, I didn't get an allowance. My father drove the car as I picked up returnable bottles on the side of the road. Old habits stick with you. I can't help myself at the range. There're Nickels and Dimes lying all over the ground!;) Now, on "buying" used brass? No thanks. I bought that pistol brass from the kid cause I've been there, done that. More wanting to help him out than needing the brass.

I bought 2000 rounds of 7.62 Nato headstamped brass years ago for my M1-A's. I was told it was gauranteed not fired in machine guns. Quite a few of them must have been run thru an M-60, as it was near impossible to resize them. Sectioning them showed
severe stretching.

After my buddy had a couple of head seperations with some of that brass I gave him, I made a little bent wire to check for excess stretching just above the inside base of the cases. We checked every case after sizing from them on. Most of
the bad cases were IMI headstamped if I recall. Most other cases were alright, and were reloaded 3-4 times with no problems.
