Melting point laws?

I saw and ad on gun-deals for the high point yeet cannon, and had to read it (kinda like looking at a car wreck). In the add they mentioned that the guns were illegal in Illinois and Minnestoa due to melting point laws. What on earth is a melting point law? is this another way to ban guns or something that may actually have a reason?
