Melonite on BAT action

I'm thinking of sending my BAT MB action to BAT to have it melonited. Curious what everyones thoughts are on doing this. Want to eliminate any chance of galling and heard it makes the action even smoother. Thanks

BAT approves of it and plenty of actions have been successfully done: what else can we say? I plan to melonite my Defiance bolts, but that is more to get the black color without adding any thickness to the bolt.

Debating on doing my barrels also. There's a lot of negative and positive opinions on doing that. Was the action smoother running after melonite?

It's good stuff by everything I have read and know folks who have it.

I don't see what the big deal is...keep grease on your bolts. If I was to have one done it would be to get a black one not because of the worry about galling. That is just me though. Good luck!
