Media recharge

I'd want to be SURE the lid is securely on my tumbler when tumbling as this super-fine powder will go airborne, leaving a fine dusting of it on everything in your work area. When removing the media from your cases, if using a tumbling cage, be sure to wear a dust mask. There are very strong eye and skin irritants in this product - and warnings about mixing with any other products. I think there are much safer products to use for this particular purpose. That said - I love that stuff for cleaning sinks and such - for which it was designed. Very good product.

When I used walnut media and it got awfully dirty id put it in a large mosquito net I made, put in tub w hot water n dish or bath soap, washed, soaked till it was walnut color again, laid out in sun to dry, bam perfect.
starting off its dirty black as heck, keep washing.
You can put in 5 gal bucket and wash that way also, use a screen to drain and rewash till clean.

Dryer sheets are great for making your media smell nice and as a bonus it filters the fine dusty crap. Or the other way around. Barkepers friend is acidic, make of that what you will. I would be washing it off. You may have confused putting it in a sonic cleaner? I do that and rinse after.

I buy crushed walnut hull at Harbor Freight for $28.00 a box weighing 25#s. When it starts looking dirty I dump it out and refill tumbler. I also add a little Nu-Finish car polish.
