Mean radius and inaccurate hunting rifles

Then you haven’t seen enough people shoot off sleds in your life. I personally watched two guys ruin scopes (one was a Burris and the other was a weaver) off a lead sled in the past two seasons. I’d suggest that if you insist on shooting off a lead sled, just use it for the rest itself, and don’t add any weight to the sled to restrict recoil.

I assume this is caused by all/most the recoil force is transmitted to the scope?

When I shoot from a bench, plinking or load development, I use these bags. Depending on the stock, I may or may not need to add a spacer under the front. Seldom for the rear, but I do have different small squeeze bags if I need them.

When in the field, I use an Armageddon bag every chance I get. They work right side up, upside down, even standing up sideways. In many cases it will hold a rifle balanced in a ready position.

I used to have an Uncle Bud's Bull Bag that looked like the one in the first picture but different color. Super steady bag for sure.
