Mcmillan grip mods?

Hello folks,

I have a mcmillan a3 sporter and i love everything about it except the trigger reach.

Im 5'9", 170lbs and wear a medium glove and can barely get the tip of my finger to the center of the trigger.
I cant seem to get comfortable with floating my right hand on the stock...too jittery.

Anyone modified their stock to reduce trigger reach?

Once you get thru the gel itll be rough fiberglass then whatever core it has. In other words- you dont have much to work with on the thickness

Are you wrapping your thumb around the wrist of the stock? If so, try laying your thumb on the top or right side of the stock and see how it feels. This is more controlled that just floating your hand there.

I need to make the grip closer to the trigger guard.
Nobody makes a fancy trigger for this gun(flat back savage 110, old style).

I can experiment with hand positioning.

This is my first custom stock and i didnt know to specify this.

Was thinking of how cheek pieces can be screwed to a stock...could transfer to a grip extension?

Thanks
Shred

If this a new stock, that you ordered. I would send it back and tell them they inletted the action to far foreward. That is the reason you can't reach the trigger.

Do you have to long of length of pull? Or as above send it back to McMillan and have them make you a new stock.
