McMillan Edge stock

I'm looking for a way to add weight to this stock? This stock has the built in weight system but I just had a new barrel put on and it seem's nose heavy. A friend gave me one of those ankle weight's to try but I could not get it to stay in place. I'm thinking of cutting the back off and putting the weight I need inside and then making a metal butt plate. I know of no other way to add weight and keep the gun on the bag's. The gun is a custom 6BR with a 26" barrel with HV contour. This gun will be used for long range groundhog matche's, I cant tkink of any way to add weight. Thank's for any help.

I use a 1/2 inch Tungsten rod 8" long which is just shy of 16 ounces available from a couple of different sources.
Mi Tech metals, or Buffalo Tungsten. Price runs between $50-$60 which seems like a lot but it's the heaviest metal that's affordable (Gold, Platinum, Uranium are the only metals heavier than Tungsten) fits right in the Edge stock.
Another thing i did to add weight was to go with Badger Ordnance Max 50 rings on a Picatinny 20moa rail. The Badgers weigh over 15 ounces which puts almost another pound on top of the action.
My Surgeon 591 actioned 6BR in a Edge HV stock with a Kreiger HV 26 inch barrel with the above mentioned additions and a Nightforce 12-42 BR scope tips the scales at just under 17 pounds and balances perfectly.
I use it for Ground Hog matches at Shippensburg Pa.

Another thing buy the Tungsten rod the exact length that you need because you'll go thru ten thousand hack saw blades trying to cut it. Yes it's that hard.

You mentioned cutting the back off the Edge stock DON'T DO IT!!!!!! You'll end up with a pretty expensive tomato stake if you do.

I was really careful and drilled out 3 separate 3/4" holes in the butt and removed most of the foam by manipulating a really long hole drilling spade? bit nearly to the wrist of the stock and filled the cavity with over 3# of lead shot along with a drizzle of epoxy. Worked better than expected and the rifle is truly a tack-driver and vibration was evidently not affected but I did come close to the side a couple times being too aggressive so be careful. This was with an MBR type fiberglass stock and your Edge may be different.
The edge butt section is also smaller so you may only get a couple pounds in there in which case using 2 long tungsten rods as mentioned may be a safer and cleaner way to go albeit more $.
