McMillan A3 for a Prone Stock?

So, I decided to use my children as an excuse to add another competition rifle :) and chose a Barnard S single shot action. I'm trying real hard to keep the overall weight below 13 lbs including sights and sling. I talked to Robertson for quite a while, but it seems I can't get the weight low enough with all the adjustable hardware. So, I've come up with the following idea and looking for feedback:

Use a McMillan A3 stock with only an adjustable cheekpiece and hand rail as a prone stock: no 3-way buttplate because it adds a couple 2 lbs according to McM. For, general shooting, the A3 is my favorite stock, so I thought "why not?" What do you think?

PS. McMillan initially said "no can do" with the Barnard action in the A3, but Dick Davis agreed to look into it further if I send him the action.
