MCMILLAN A3?

I have a a3 mcmillan rem700 when i ordered it i was planning on useing the lilja #7 contour but now im useing the remington varmint contour what do i do to fill in the barrel channel?

why fill it in?

I have pretty much the same setup:

big channel and skinny barrel...

Also have a 700VS in an HTG and it isnt that bad. the HTG has a straight 1.200 groove i believe -- personally i wouldnt will it in.

I'll get a better pic if i get a chance.

HTH--just doesnt seem like a real problem to me.


BUT--if you must, then a trip to McMillan with the specific barreled action is probably in order.

A. Leave it.
B. Send it to McMillan to re-inlet to the new barrel contour.
C. Put bedding tape on the barrel and "bed" the barrel channel with marine-Tex.

Yeah, was looking at any relevant articles about McMillan. Noticed this wasn't really resolved that I can tell, so I put in my two cents, then I noticed the date...
