McMillan.50 trigger

Has anyone adjusted the factory trigger on a McMillan.50 bmg? Suggestions on quality replacement? Mine is currently set between 6.5-7 pounds which is more than I like on a precision rifle. Thanks.

I didn't know McMillan even produced a trigger. I've been shooting the McBro 50 action for going on 20 years now. All the competition guys just used whatever was their normal preference. its a std trigger hanger.

I've always used Jewell.

I've had a a couple of Jewell trigger failures. The firing pin spring on these actions is just to stout for some things. But I just buy Huber triggers for mine. He's got extra wide andong safety leavers for these large diameter actions. Or bottom safety. I just prefer the two stage trigger, Tubb or Huber. I can't say one is better than the other.

I'm still using the orginal jewell BR trigger on mine. the gun was originally built in 1997, and I shot both Light and Heavy FCSA from 1998 to about 2010 with it. I'm not sure of the total round count but I have had 5 barrels on the gun. best guess is that I have about 5 to 6k rounds on the action. I have witnessed / personally experienced a lot of different failures over the years at matches, but I have never had an issue with the trigger. I'm not saying it never happens, (i've seen some pretty crazy stuff) but the trigger has been solid for me personally.
