McGee Stocks, any experience or coments?

Hello, I am newbie here and planning to build my first 6mmBR rifle. I found McGee website, http://www.mcgeestocks.com ) and their stocks looks very nice, specially for the price!
I am planning to have a F-Class stock for a Stiller Predator and a Pot Belly for a Position rifle.
I would apreciate any coments on McGee stocks.

McGee Stocks are highly regarded by the HighPower and position shooting crowd. A bit of a task to finish, but then all laminated stocks are that way.

For the F-Class design, I'd prefer one that is a little less thick in the wrist area, but again, with a laminated stock you can "adjust to fit" with a rasp and some sandpaper.

I received an email from McGee with some info that I would like to share:

1- How much is the weight of these two stocks, the Pot Belly and the F-Class stock in laminated, inleted for a Remington 700 short action with the pillar bed?
R: The Pot Belly weighs 4 ½ pounds and the F-Class is 4 ¼ pounds.


2- How much weight is added if the International Cheekpiece adjuster and/or the 3 way Adjustable buttplate is instaled?
R: The cheek adjuster weighs about ½ pound and the buttplate assembly is 1 ¼ pounds.


3- How much time does it takes from order to have the stock on a US address,it goes to a gunsmith for bedding)?
R: About 8 weeks.



4- The stock finish comes ready,say finished)? What is the finished of the laminated stock?
R: Ours are not finished, but sanded to about 80 grit. Most shooters like to tweak the cheek and pistol grip a little, so it’s pointless to finish one too early! I always recommend dry firing and\or shooting before finishing one.


5- Is there any discout if the stock is ordered without any inletting?
R: No, the inlet is in our pattern, so it’s not much extra work to inlet for one of the common actions.
