MBR metal butt plate

I'm building a long range groundhog rifle on an MBR and a Panda but it'll be a switch barrel rig depending on the field.

I was going to just epoxy in a lead bar in a hole drilled in the butt but thought it might be nice to be able to switch the amount of weight in the stock depending on the barrel, 31" 1.250 versus a 20" Light Varmint. Is there anyone out there that makes stainless butt plates or is that something normally done by a smith himself? I can probably manage attaching the weight to the plate, just a little leery of my milling skills to make on that looks halfway decent.

Sounds like you are a good candidate for one of Tom Meredith's polished butt plates and adjustable weight systems. Google TM Stockwork for his website.

They usually make them from aluminum. Got to Shehanes site, I think he sells an aluminum one. Is it a Shehane MBR? if not a gunsmith can make one. Matt

Tom Meredith does make a nice stainless but plate. The problem is to get a good balance with a 31 1.250 straight barrel you need about 4.5 pounds in the butt from what I've found. thats not going to be a removable
