I shoot a 6 dasher, love it. I have a spare New, Bartlein barrel in 6mm, 7.5 twist. I am looking for something different to do with this barrel. I don't mind getting a new action, stock etc. Just feel the urge for something new. I want to shoot 300 yards and closer from a bench, but not necessary benchrest. What is out there to in 6mm? Thanks

Why not a standard 6BR?

I use a 7.5 twist barrel but only because I shoot the Berger 115 grain VLD's for my Ram load. It shoots lighter bullets (down to 70 grain SMKs) great as well so you'll have plenty of options for a 300 yard load.

Howdy !

Since you have mentioned several 6mm “ wildcats “ already…..

Here’s my “ DEEP 6 “ wildcat. Chamber is cut by running a 6mm Remington reamer in
“ short “, for a nominal .466” base diam. I use 7 X 64 Brenneke as the parent brass, as it has the required .466” base diam. 7 x 64 is .308 bolt face compatible, rimless. Brass is available from Norma, Lapua, and RWS; to name just a few.

“ DEEP 6 “ case capacity is 51.2gr H2O, placing it in the 6XC - 6mm Creedmoor zone.
It has the same, long VLD-friendly neck the 6mm Remington has. I used this wildcat in my Wichita WBR1375 single shot action varmint/target rifle.
