May 7 Status Check - Who's gotten stimulus?

NOT TRUE.
I worked for over 20 years for the F.D. and the city did not pay ONE CENT towards my SS or Medicare. I also worked another full time job doing oil burner repair made close to plumbers hourly wage ( good money) and paid into the fund for over 30 years all told, and when I retired I was cut 54% of my SS because I had a municipal pension and then the $134 monthly for medicare for a total 73% cut. Do some research before you bad mouth the municipal employees who took those jobs when nobody else would work for the minimum wage we earned keeping your ass safe.

I envy you........ My SS check is only $65 a month after Medicare ?part B.When you venture into A governmental type employment ,City, County, school or State ,the system you worked under was fair to the taxpayer. All these systems don't operate the way yours did. In Iowa a government worker gets Public pension,Social Security ,a 401b {401k style} Defined benefit plan all payed for by the same people.
Our situation is do to the Pension Offset clause, that's when you have a job that received Federal dollars.

Hey All, Mine arrived Friday the 15th and put in drive up window on Saturday morning at the bank and spent on bills Saturday afternoon. NEXT ?

My wife and I get nothing.

Even when they said that Social Security recipients would receive a check, I am left out.

I won’t complain. I suppose I feel fortunate that I am involved in a rather profitable business that allows me to be left out.

I finally got a check in the mail, BUT it was for the wrong amount. After searching IRS websites for answers I found one place that said that if one was over paid, the government would not collect the amount over. However, if one is UNDER paid (like me), then it would have to be corrected NEXT year. Only the government can screw up things this badly.

Not true, you may not have known this but by law you paid 7.5 percent and your employer paid 7.5 percent for a total of 15 present for SS. What is worse you actually played the employer 7.5 percent since this was your overhead to them and was not available to you for other complementation. So SS actually cost you 15 percent of every pay check and you had no choice in the arrangement.

Some states have plans that don't include SS. California for one. Last i knew SS was 6.2% for employee and employer. Please review the tax and spend clause of the U S Constitution. A state cannot exist without the ability to tax.

The taxpayer pays both the employer and the employee portion of the SS tax.
