MAX OAL for 6.5 x 47 in Rem Model 7

I'm getting ready to build a LW hunting rifle in 6.5 X 47 on Mod 7 Rem - does anyone know what is the max OAL that will still feed in an unaltered action and magazine box. I plan on shooting 120-130 wt bullets in a 9 twist barrel for a young shooters rifle and will also unashamedly take any contributions of suggested load data.

I believe it's around 2.800" oal. In my Remington 700 I can load 130 Bergers .010 in the lands and still mag feed without any issues. the freebore I think is .120

I would think with the generosity of remingtons freebore that you would in most cases set the bullet just undeer the length of the magazine box. You will have to seat a bullet long and try it,then seat it alittle deeper till it fits without binding.

I have two model 7's both are a hair over 2.8. There are no aftermarket wyatt boxes for the 7 as the trigger group is too close to the magazine slot to allow any machining of the slot. I run a wildcat in one of them (7mm saum case shortened 200 thou). The case length is the same as a 6.5X47 (1.845) and they feed well. As long as the reamer freebore is not excessive you will be fine with rounds that feed out of the mag and reach the lands
