I have been reading that you should measure your case length (using a Sinclair tool) to find the max case length for your specific rifle and then trim the cases back a little so you get the maximum usable case/neck. I understand that theory but I am finding that my Lapua brass grows very slowly and it is not near the max trim length.
So...if I wait for it to grow, then my case lengths will not be the same size. that is counterintuitive to what I have learned about precision reloading. It seems like a chicken-and-egg situation. Do I let it grow and have inconsistent cases for a while or do I trim it back to the shortest case of the lot so they are all consistent?
