Mauser 98 trigger guard

cncmill

Erick Crouthamel (Crouthamel Precision)
Hi everyone,
I building a new 6BR from a Mauser 98 action and making the stock from scratch. It is coming together slowly and I now have a trigger guard question. I need to finish the grip and thumbhole for the stock but I am hesitant until I know what to do for a guard. I don't want to use the original bottom metal. What are you guys using for a trigger guard when you don't use the original bottom metal?

Thanks,

Erick Crouthamel

Not in any means a rifle builder, but I cut the original trigger guard/bottom metal and shaped my own trigger guard.

Why not a remington adl trigger guard. They seem to work on alot of other rifles.I am assuming you want to shoot single shot.

Using a Remington trigger guard was the way I was leaning towards till teele1 gave me one of those "Duh" moments with his post. I am sad to say I didn't even think of using the original bottom metal and cut it down. That is the way I am going.

Thanks,

Erick
