Material to fill voids when glass bedding?

I filled in the "Gap" in the barrel channel, on my Ruger American Rimfire (Wood stock). I used a wood dowel, of proper diameter, placed it in the barrel channel, the used AcraGel to finish the bedding. My Ruger American was more accurate with support of the bedding. Can't figure out why Ruger made their American Series stock with that void in the forearm.

I’ve started using hi temp tape and I’m really happy with the clean up and results. This works on the action stuff…trigger pin holes, covering the bottom metal and trigger cut out. I’m still using plumbers putty or a styrofoam in the stock…safety cut out, t-nut holes for arca rails, etc.

Tape I’m talking about: 3-Pack Green Polyester Hi-Temp... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H78SK2N?tag=accuratescom-20

Air bubbles, as said, don't worry about it if they're not extreme. A whole bunch behind the recoil lug ... you suck ...

'Painting' bedding compound on the receiver as well as in the stock is worthwhile. If you don't have a bunch of goo to clean up, you didn't do it right.

I use a different approach between flat bottomed receivers and round receivers.

So I tried the modeling clay and it is more difficult to clean up than plumbers putty. This just must be what it is for this type of thing. Anyway I found a great way to cover up roll marks instead of clay. I put a piece of scotch tape along the receiver, just below the wood line. Worked great. I also put tape on the bottom to prevent bedding from coming up into the magazine well. That also helped. I also took someone's advice in this thread about buttering the receiver and the stock. It came out perfect. No voids! Great tip.
You can obviously see a little step in the bedding but if you are careful to not go too far below the stock line that litte gap will probably go away anyway, if chamfer the edges of the bedding to prevent chip out.

Perhaps I'm not following, but you don't want to use tape over any area that's to be bedded... tape extending beyond the mag well onto the receiver will result in no contact with the bedding in that location on the bottom of the receiver when the tape is removed.

The tape was just below the stock line ever so slightly.

The tape over the mag well was just enough to cover the opening to prevent the bedding from flowing up in there. I put clay in the mag well to the tape was just extra insurance.

The gap is not offensive at all. Plus it seems like a little bit of insurances to keep from chipping the edges.
It looks way worse in the picture. It's only a thousand or 2 different
