Material to fill voids when glass bedding?

I filled in the "Gap" in the barrel channel, on my Ruger American Rimfire (Wood stock). I used a wood dowel, of proper diameter, placed it in the barrel channel, the used AcraGel to finish the bedding. My Ruger American was more accurate with support of the bedding. Can't figure out why Ruger made their American Series stock with that void in the forearm.

I’ve started using hi temp tape and I’m really happy with the clean up and results. This works on the action stuff…trigger pin holes, covering the bottom metal and trigger cut out. I’m still using plumbers putty or a styrofoam in the stock…safety cut out, t-nut holes for arca rails, etc.

Tape I’m talking about: 3-Pack Green Polyester Hi-Temp... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H78SK2N?tag=accuratescom-20

Air bubbles, as said, don't worry about it if they're not extreme. A whole bunch behind the recoil lug ... you suck ...

'Painting' bedding compound on the receiver as well as in the stock is worthwhile. If you don't have a bunch of goo to clean up, you didn't do it right.
