Material on Shooting Sling Cinch - What is this stuff ?

I'm making some rear bags, kneeling pillows, and other items out of 1000D Cordura and I wanted to use some of this material that's on my Chuck Mawhinney sling. Also want to use it when I make some more slings.

Anyone know just what this is called? It's kind of like leather, kind of like stingray.

I think it is called micro fiber like they use on couch's.
