Matchmaster seating die

Just saw one of these in action on youtube and wasnt sure what it was. The guy was loading .223 and just dropped the bullet in and seated without issue. Makes me want to buy a few.

Anyone use one? Thoughts?

I have one I bought for loading 22-250. Have loaded a thousand or so with it so far. It helps speed things up as all my old, fat fingers have to do is drop the bullet into an opening. And that is all I can say good about it.

From the beginning it didn't give repeatable COL. Didn't take me long to figure out why. All you have to do is grab the top and push and pull it to find out the threads the adjuster are on are not tight at all. You can push and pull the top up and down almost .010. There is an internal rubber O-ring that I guess is supposed to keep the top from turning, but it actually lets the seating stem move up and down so there is very little chance of getting a repeatable COL. Any change in neck tension will cause all kinds of measurements.

I took it apart and got a thinner O-ring that reduces the tension on the adjuster so when the bullet pushes on the seating stem and adjuster it tightens against the internal threads. This solved the problem to the point I could use it. The loads are for shooting prairie dogs.

Is it "Match" worthy? Hell no. Especially at the price. It was obviously designed by someone who doesn't have a clue about what is required for precision reloads, and also doesn't have any knowledge of metal smithing.
