The guys from OZ but yes, Match rifle is the same as in the UK, with the exception that they continue from 1200yds all the way to 1500, maybe a bit further with the .308

We shoot "match rifle" and long range f class from 1000, 1100, 1200 and 1500 yards. Usually 2-3 sighters and either 15 or 20 to count. Score runs X,6,5,4,3,2,1. Target size is 8'x6'

Well, for one, they use forearm rests in prone.

Hell, if I could lay a sandbag under my forearm, I could shoot on the F-Class targets... I'm not really kidding.

Then again, they may be shooting on a metric decimal?

You're right. And wrong. I mean, what they are doing IS a sort of Long Range Prone, similar in a lot of ways to PALMA.

But the above mentioned equipment allowances, and the shooting to 1,200+ is a helluva sight different. (literally, for some)

1,200 yards with a .308 is never going to be "casual", even with 185+ grain bullets.

Shooting at 1200 with a 308 isn't that bad. 1500 is a bit of a stretch, but I've successfully held half to 2/3rds 6 ring running 180jlks at 2850.

The trick to shooting that far away is to know when to keep 5s. Really helps sharpen up your 1000 yard F Class game.

I recommend people giving it a try. You really get to zone in with your gear shooting long shot strings all day.

They are the same as F Class.

The aiming Mark is 1020 mm,Center Bull/V Bull is 305 mm/12“,Bulls Eye 610 mm/24“,scored as 5 points,Inner 4,1220 mm,Magpie 3 is 1800 mm or 6 feet,Outer 2 is rest of target,which in Australia is 6 feet high by 8 feet wide.If shooting F Class the centre/ V Bull is scored as 6,there is an X ring of 5““ for F Class.

The V in the Great Britain Target is half the area of the Bull,in Australia the V is half the diameter of the Bull.
