Match chamber

I have a barrel that was chambered with a PT&G match reamer and never put on a gun . Problem - I'm thinking about putting it on a gun . And just for the heck of it I just tried to put a 22 LR Norma T22 in the chamber . And with my thumb I could not push it into the chamber . Is that normal for a match chamber ?? Are match chambers that tight ?

Match chambers on a .22 LR normally engrave the bullet into the rifling when the bolt is closed. Pushing the round in with your thumb may be more difficult since you don’t have the camming effect of the bolt. You may find that some match chambers won’t extract a unfired round.

I just had some cheap 22lr ammo that is very hard to chamber. The coating on the bullet increased the bullet diameter to much.
Only chambers/fires in my well worn Ruger MK1 pistol. A good thing as i bought 5000 rounds. (no returns)
